The Rolex Monte Carlo has witnessed multiple moments of the players calling out supervisors for differences of opinion. After Daniil Medvedev’s conflict yesterday, it was Rune’s chance to get involved with the crowd and the supervisor.
Holger Rune was up against Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of Monte Carlo. Despite the harsh scheduling, Rune continued to push the World No. 2 for every point. However, Sinner settles things down by winning the first set, but Rune was right back in the second.
However, at one point, Rune was penalized with a time violation for serving beyond the stipulated time for the point. With this, the crowd started booing the 20-year-old. A very quiet stadium erupted as they continued to jeer Rune till he signaled them to be quiet.

Upon this, he received another violation, this time over an unsportsmanship conduct warning. However, the Dane did not simply take the warning and demanded an explanation. He argued with the umpire and soon called out the supervisor to get the issue sorted out. After this, the supervisor walked out and calmed the situation down.

The crowd continued to boo Rune, but this time he did not react and motored his way through the set.
Holger Rune, who was on the losing side of the second set, spent a good amount of time arguing with the umpire and getting booed by the crowd. However, as many would expect, Rune fueled in more energy from this to level up his gameplay.
After losing the game, the Dane came back to win the game and pushed the second set into a tie-break. The Dane has a wonderful record in tiebreaks and was pretty confident heading into one against Sinner.
