Former Giant Tiki Barber, the team's all-time leading rusher, said New York could make the playoffs, but it doesn't looked primed for the postseason.
“The Giants fans and the Giants themselves started thinking about the playoffs too soon...they’re not good enough to be a playoff team,” Barber said Tuesday on the WFAN’s Tiki & Tierney show. “Does that mean they’re not gonna make the playoffs? No, not at all. They absolutely can make the playoffs. Every year we see a team that’s not good enough make the playoffs.”

Barber is right. The Giants (7-5-1) don't look like a playoff team, but injuries to RB Saquon Barkley and others have a lot to do with that.
After starting 6-1, the Giants find themselves limping toward the finish line.
Added Barber: “The New York Giants got so focused — as a team, as a fan base, as probably a staff — on what do we do to get to the playoffs [when] they had nine weeks still to go.”
The Giants are 1-3-1 since their Week 9 bye. Even if the roster was at full strength, the final four games would have been the toughest stretch.
A win on "Sunday Night Football" against the Commanders (7-5-1) would significantly boost the Giants' playoff chances.
Maybe it would change their former star's mind, too.
